Honors for Three 2010 Rebels

New Market, VA—February 24, 2011

Baseball America's College Preview Edition has named three Rebels from last year's team as pre-season all-conference selections. Kevin Brown (Bryant) the Rebels' third baseman last year, has not only been named to the Northeast Conference pre-season team as an outfielder, he has also been projected as the conference's player of the year. Kevin became a line-drive machine for New Market by the end of last summer.

First baseman Brent Mikionis (VCU) was named to the Colonial Athletic Association pre-season team, while Rebel second sacker Trey Karlan was named to the Ohio Valley Conference pre-season team as a third baseman.

Baseball America also noted that the Rebels' leading hitter from 2010, Jordan Owen, is a senior starter "who set a school mark with 18 homers last season" for the University of Tennessee-Martin.

Adding to our list of 2010 Rebels who have received pre-season honors, right-fielder Jordan Owen has been named to the pre-season All Ohio Valley Conference team in a poll conducted by the conference's coaches. Jordan has signed to play in the Northwoods League this summer.
