July 4, 2009: Open Batting Practice

Rebels fans and parents were encouraged to bring their bats and mitts for a chance to recapture the thrill of digging in and putting bat to ball once more. Coach Paluga pitched while several participants tried their hand at using a wooden bat. Those in attendance agreed that Open Batting Practice should be made an annual event—as long as it is followed with plenty of ice, ibuprofin, and massage therapy! Photos by Melissa Dodge.
